Whether you’re taking a vacation at the beach, the mountains or touring a city, there’s always a way to exercise and bond with your family. Take advantage of your new surroundings and get the whole family’s heart pumping at the same time!

Vacation at the Beach

While you’re soaking up the sun with your kiddos, there are plenty of active outdoor games to enjoy. Try beach volleyball, flying a kite or even beach limbo. After you’ve worked up a sweat, you can grab a boogie board and surf some waves. If boogie boarding is a little too extreme, you can make a game of jumping over the waves and chasing your little ones around in the sand–but don’t forget to wear sunscreen!

Vacation in the Mountains

The mountains offer the perfect opportunity for exercising as a family. Find a local trail that you can explore together and break a sweat climbing up to the fantastic view. If your children are old enough, you can rent mountain bikes and have an adventure speeding through the hills.

Vacation in the City

There is so much to explore in a new city and many ways to incorporate exercising for children of all ages. Try renting bikes or even signing up for a bike tour to experience all the city has to offer. If biking isn’t your family’s favorite thing, try walking to your destination instead of taking a taxi to see the city up close. You can finish out the day by taking a dip in the hotel pool or visiting a local park. If you’re lucky, your kids will be having so much fun they won’t even realize they’re exercising!
