Mom Should Do For Herself

Let’s face it, being a mom can be really tough for a number of reasons. We spend so much time taking care of our significant others, kids and pets that we sometimes forget to take care of ourselves. Moms need to get away and splurge on themselves every now and then. Here are the eight things every mom should do for herself every once in a while!

1. Get your hair done

Visit your favorite hair salon and get your hair cut and colored. Your new look will give you that boost of confidence you need to take on the day.

2. Take a bubble bath

While you might not have that long of a break to lake a long bath, a 15 minutes bubble bath will do wonders! Add in some lavender essential oils and bath salts to help you relax even more. If needed, throw in a nice glass of red wine, too!

3. Get your nails done

Take a trip to your local nail salon and get a manicure and pedicure. Not only will your nails look glamorous, but your hands and feet will also feel reenergized.

4. Buy yourself new clothes

Going to the mall may be nothing new, but instead of going to buy things for the kiddos, buy yourself some new clothes. Your updated wardrobe will feel like a million bucks. Don’t forget to wear a mask while shopping!

5. Make your favorite dessert even if no one else likes it

Make this dessert for YOU! Maybe your kids don’t like cherry pie… who cares?? Maybe your husband thinks that sugar cookies are boring… good thing he doesn’t have to eat them! Have fun with making and baking your creation for a nice treat, and if you make too much, save it for tomorrow!

6. Buy yourself new lingerie

Sometimes, being a mommy can be decidedly unglamorous. Buying new lingerie will make you feel beautiful and feminine. Mom should do this for herself every now and then, and it is also so easy to buy lingerie online at Amazon and Target!

7. Buy a new skincare product

All moms have that one skincare line that is a little too expensive to buy on the regular, but splurging on yourself once won’t break the bank. Whether it is a night cream, new exfoliator or even a jade facial roller, this new skin care addition will make you feel glamorous and special whenever you use it.

8. Get your makeup professionally done (or sign up for a tutorial)

Schedule a time to have your makeup professionally done. Your fresh new look is sure to give you a pick-me-up when you most need it. Or, if getting your makeup done while social distancing is impossible, sign up for an online makeup tutorial to learn some new tricks for yourself.

If you can find the time, try to do any one of the above, or all of them if possible! Us hard working moms deserve a little TLC, too!
