Alachua County Library District 2019 Author Series presents New York Times bestselling author Wiley Cash

Wiley Cash is the prize-winning author of The Last Ballad, This Dark Road to Mercy, and A Land More Kind Than Home. The American Library Association named The Last Ballad a Best Book of 2017; the title also won the Southern Book Prize for Literary Fiction.

Inspired by actual events, The Last Ballad chronicles a woman’s struggle for dignity and her rights as a textile mill worker in North Carolina’s Appalachian foothills. Cash brings to life the heartbreak and bravery of the labor movement in early 20th-century America in this title.
