The Alachua County Library District will kick off National Library Card Sign-Up Month in September with prizes, games and a special story session featuring University of Florida mascots Albert and Alberta.
The campaign starts with Gator Storytime featuring Albert and Alberta at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5 at Headquarters Branch, 401 E. University Ave. Following a few swamp stories and photos with your favorite Gators, sign up for a card and play a game to win a library prize.
New cardholders who register in September will be entered into a raffle for fantastic local prizes, including a gift bag from Cloud 9 Spa, an annual membership to the Cade Museum, and gift certificates to Dragonfly Sushi, Satchel’s Pizza and Boca Fiesta.
Library cards are free to all Florida residents and unlock a world of resources including digital books, DVDs, eSources, and downloadable music. Your Alachua County Library District card grants you access to approximately 777,000 items to check out, from print books to book club kits.
