DESCRIPTION

Gainesville Pet Rescue (GPR) is partnering with Dogwood Park and Daycare at 5505 SW Archer Road on Saturday, April 8th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for Pups in the Park, a canine Easter Egg hunt that raises funds to save homeless, sick, or injured animals in Alachua County.

โ€œThis is an event that the whole family can enjoy,โ€ said Danielle Cummings, Development Coordinator for GPR. โ€œPups in the Park is a fun event for community members, fosters, and previous adopters, and it raises money for a good cause,โ€ Cummings added.

Although this is the fourth year that GPR has hosted the event with Dogwood Park, this is the first year that GPR is offering sponsorship and vendor opportunities. Potential sponsors and vendors can download a vendor form at www.gainesvillepetrescue.org/events/pup-in-the-park.

โ€œThere will be lots of activities in addition to the egg hunt like a photo booth, raffle, treat station, and more,โ€ Cummings said.

To participate in the egg hunt, dog owners must show proof of Rabies vaccination, and male dogs over 7 months old must be neutered. The participating fee is $10 for the first dog and $5 for additional dogs, and the fee includes park admission for the day. One hundred percent of the proceeds goes directly to GPR.

GPR is a foster-based, no-kill animal rescue committed to ending needless euthanasia in Alachua County. In 2016, GPR rescued 589 cats, 700 dogs and 2 rabbits.
