If you have spent any time on Tik Tok recently, whether it be your account or your kiddo’s, you might have seen a new coffee trend that is taking over the internet. It’s calling whipped coffee, and it might be the best thing since sliced bread.
This drink, while new to us, has actually been around for some time. It is chilled milk on ice topped with whipped coffee and sugar. Whipped coffee, or dalgona, comes from South Korea and India, and some people have even nicknamed it “quarantine coffee” because of its recent popularity midst the COVID-19 pandemic. The good news? It is so easy to make, and you might already have all the ingredients in your pantry!
How to Make Whipped Coffee
- 2 tablespoons instant coffee
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 cup milk of choice
In a bowl, add in instant coffee, sugar, and water. With a whisk or hand mixer, whip the mixture until it is fluffy and lighted in color; this will take 1-2 minutes. Fill a cup with ice and 1 cup of milk. Add your whipped coffee on top of the milk, and serve with a straw. Enjoy!
