Starting July 1, Florida Bright Futures Scholarship requirements have gotten a little harder. The minimum SAT score required to attain the Florida Academic Scholars award or the Florida Medallion Scholars award has gone up. According to PrepScholar SAT, an online resource, it is estimated that the minimum SAT score for the Florida Academic Scholars award will go up from 1290 to 1330, and the minimum SAT score for the Florida Medallion Scholars award will go up from 1170 to 1200. Requirements for the homeschooled SAT scholarships have yet to be determined.
These new Florida Bright Futures Scholarship requirements will not apply to the high school students graduating through 2020; however, they will apply to those graduating in 2021 and after. So, for the freshmen, sophomores and juniors who are preparing to take the SAT, keep this in mind.
There are a number of other requirements that are important to note for Florida Bright Futures, and you can visit the Florida Bright Futures website or PrepScholar to find a helpful breakdown to all Bright Futures requirements.
