According to Public Information Officer, Jackie Johnson, the Alachua County School Board has been made aware that, starting with the 2026-27 school year, the Florida Charter Review Commission (CRC) decided today to approve the conversion of Newberry Elementary School to a charter school.

According to the email “Newberry Elementary’s leadership and staff will remain focused on meeting the needs of the students, ensuring they continue to receive a high-quality education.”

Newberry Elementary School is located at 5705 SW 15th Ave.Newberry, FL 32669.
