Why It Matters for Local Families
The auditions offer children and teens an opportunity to perform with one of North Central Florida’s longest-running ballet companies. Selected dancers may appear in Dance Alive National Ballet’s annual production of The Nutcracker, as well as other performances throughout the season.
According to the organization, some performers also may be chosen to participate in The Nutcracker tour, which includes performances in Alachua and Ocala before returning to Gainesville. The production will also be performed with the Ocala Symphony Orchestra in both Gainesville and Ocala.
Founded in Gainesville in 1966, Dance Alive National Ballet is celebrating its 61st anniversary season and continues to provide performance and educational opportunities for dancers from throughout the region, according to the press release.
