Feb. 8 is National Kite-Flying Day! Here are some of the best places to admire the power of the wind and fly a kite with your kiddos to celebrate.

Best places to fly a kite

Possum Creek Park

Possum Creek Park has recreational fields that are perfect for kite-flying with your whole family. You can also use the fields for sports games! After flying your kites, you can enjoy lunch at the picnic pavilion and skate around in the skatepark.

Depot Park

The wide open spaces of Depot Park are great for National Kite-Flying Day. After your kiddos finish their kite-flying fun, they can play on the playground or you can go on a family walk on one of the trails!

Forest Park

Forest Park was recently renovated and reopened, so it is ready for everyone’s kite-flying. There are three full-sized multi-purpose fields, picnic tables, grills and more!

Cedar Grove Park

At Cedar Grove Park, there is a field next to the playground where you can set up for the perfect kite-flying experience. Your dog can join the fun too! (As long as it is on a leash.)
