Starting at 9 a.m. Jan. 16, applications for the 2024-2025 Alachua County Public Schools academic or career-technical (CTE) magnet programs will open. Families with students in PreKindergarten to 10th grade can apply until applications close at 4 p.m. Feb. 13.

The application and selection process

The magnet program application process is online and allows families to apply to multiple programs with one application, according to the ACPS news release. There will also be hard copies available at each school. For more information about the application and the magnet programs, visit the ACPS district website.

After applications close, half of the new magnet program students will be chosen through a districtwide lottery, according to the news release. The other half of new students will be chosen by the school. To be eligible for selection, students must meet the certain attendance, academic and disciplinary criteria for each magnet school.
